1.“IF YOU LOVED ME, YOU WOULD DO THIS FOR ME.”
Narcissistic mothers are very hard to deal with when they come up with emotional behaviour of questioning your feelings for her. It can be difficult to accept but it is quite sure you are now no longer doing things for your mother out of intimacy, but just because your mother might complain to you if you are not doing this anymore.
2. “YOU ARE SO SELFISH, YOU ARE ALWAYS THINKING OF YOURSELF.”
Just because you have prioritized your own sanity, your mother is constantly criticizing you for that. It can be very hard to manage when your boundaries are now considered as selfishness and self-care at your home is a very serious threat to your mother’s individuality.
Similarly, when you choose silence over drama, it can trigger your narcissistic mother a great deal!

Narcissistic mothers hate being ignored! They constantly assure you their efforts, which might be just surface level to ensure that you should prioritise you. However it is not necessary you consider them this kind of loveable as they explain to you. It is right being your mother, she is continuously in need of your attention, but being too vocal can bring serious disturbances in your relationship.
5. “You are overreacting, it was just a joke I made at you or your childhood. Of course I am a mother, I can.”
Your mother can have an extreme lack of emotions and empathy towards you because her words are now disturbing you. It might be because your efforts are just a vague effort to her. Her jokes in public can be more of a humiliation than “just a joke”.
It is right she is a mother and she can joke around, but of course that should not be humiliating you. Definitely such humiliation can bring serious disturbances in your life when it is in public. Jokes need to be with the purpose of enlightenment and not humiliation.

Control and power is a narcissistic mother’s tool to show her power. You can easily do things but when it is about her priorities about you, definitely it is going to be very disturbing. Sometimes it is not necessary that it is a trait of narcissistic behaviour, but majority of time, narcissistic mothers hate the children taking their own decisions.
Narcissistic moms make it a routine by creating a full-fledged scenario of your daily life routine no matter how much you have the other option of your personal choices and life plans based on your passion and talent.
7. “I FEEL ASHAMED OF YOU WHEN I TAKE YOU TO MY SOCIAL GATHERINGS, HOW CAN I EVEN INTRODUCE YOU AS MY CHILD? YOU ARE THE DISGRACE TO ME AND MY FAMILY.”
It’s traumatic when mothers are overly expecting for the child to be extravagantly qualified. You might feel very confused and hated when your mother is introducing you to her social circle. It might be because you are not achieving enough to calm your mother’s boosting behaviour. She wants you to be narcissistic too. So it can be another feather in her hat.

This is not only a dialogue but something that can shatter a child’s personality because you are no longer being there for your child’s feelings. It is obvious you hate your mother for always comparing and complaining. Sometimes it is just her natural attitude that is triggering her. A mother saying torturous things can ruin your personality!
